About Jenn
Jenn was born in Southern New Jersey on December 21, 1975. When she was in 2nd grade, she and her mom moved to Western Pennsylvania. Jenn grew up most of her life in Marion Center, Pennsylvania. Growing up she always wanted to get out of the country and enjoy the city life; oddly enough now that Jenn lives in an urban area, that country girl at heart keeps coming out!
Jenn graduated from Marion Center Area High School in 1994. She attended The Pennsylvania State University (PSU). In 1998, Jenn graduated from PSU with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies.
Jenn is Chief Operations Officer for IKOR Incorporated located in Yorklyn, Delaware. IKOR Incorporated provides advocacy and professional guardianship services to the elderly and disabled.
Jenn�s parents are Lenore and Greg Hughes of Bolivar, Pennsylvania and Michael and Jacky Achenbach of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jenn has three siblings: Greg Jr., Justin, and Keri.
About Scott
Scott was born in Delaware on November 24, 1973. He grew up in and around Wilmington, Delaware. His family moved to Kennett Square, Pennsylvania shortly after he graduated from high school. Scott�s first love is hockey. Scott has played hockey since a very young age and began playing as a goaltender at the age of 13. Scott still plays as a goalie several times a week.
Scott graduated from A.I. DuPont High School in Greenville, Delaware in 1991. After high school, Scott went to Europe to play semi-professional hockey. He played in the Alps region for 1.5 years. Scott returned home to the States and started college at West Chester University, after a brief time there he transferred to The Pennsylvania State University (PSU). Scott continued to play hockey while at PSU, but he also acquired a love for rowing. Scott was influential in starting Penn State�s first Crew Team. In 1997, Scott graduated from PSU with a BS in Science. After graduation from PSU, Scott again returned to Europe to play semi-professional hockey.
Prior to this trip to Europe, Scott had acquired his dual citizenship between the U.S. and Italy. Being an Italian citizen made playing hockey in Europe easier for Scott. He played in Italy for 6 months.
Scott works in logistics for Robbins Motor Transportation located in Eddystone Pennsylvania. Robbins handles shipping for extremely oversized loads. Scott is currently working on transportation of windmills for the growing number of wind energy farms across the country.
Scott�s parents are Patricia and The Honorable Daniel J. Maisano. Scott has two brothers: Adam and Dan.
How They Met
Scott and Jenn met in January 1997 at Penn State. They met through a mutual friend, a hockey player of course! They began dating and dated until Fall of 1997. Scott and Jenn went their separate ways while he went to Europe to play hockey and she finished college.
Scott and Jenn stayed in touch on and off over the next couple of years. They reconnected again in the Winter of 2000. He came up to State College to visit Jenn a couple of times. And in February 2000, they took a weekend trip to Dewey Beach, Delaware. This is when Jenn was sure that Scott was the one.
In April 2000, Jenn moved to Kennett Square, Pennsylvania with Scott. Jenn and Scott had an eventful trip to State College with a U-Haul, to pick up the rest of Jenn's belongings and move them to Kennett. This trip was a nightmare; it was very hot and the truck broke down on the PA Turnpike. They had to wait three hours on the side of the Turnpike for a tow truck and then the truck had to be towed the rest of the way to Kennett! Ironically, it was on this trip, that Scott was sure that Jenn was the one.
Jenn and Scott rented several places in Kennett Square until July 2003, when they purchased their first home together. Jenn and Scott live in their Kennett Square home with their furbaby, Ruger.
